All bookings must be confirmed with a deposit of £10.00 per night booked. This deposit is held until after your holiday.
The rent will be required 30 days before your holiday.
Cancellation: Should you need to cancel after confirmation of booking, you will forfeit the deposit. If you cancel 4 weeks before your holiday begins you forfeit the full amount, less the booking deposit – unless the property is re-let at the same amount. If re-let at a lower amount, the balance will be charged to you. If, however, you cancel six months before the holiday begins, you will get a full refund of your booking deposit. You can insure against cancellation and we would recommend that you do so. We can help with any details on request.
Dogs are welcome but must be house-trained and must not be left unattended in the house if there is a danger of them wining or howling/barking or damaging furniture.

Avon Cottage is a traditional 17th century slate Cornish cottage, in a rural setting, minutes from the North Cornish Coast and the fishing town of Padstow.
Avon Cottage is a delightful old, character Cornish cottage, situated in the grounds of Woodlands Country House, a large, award winning, Victorian bed and breakfast set in the countryside just a minute or so from Padstow, seven beautiful Cornish Bays and the Atlantic ocean, noted for surfing, sailing and general water activities all year round!
The inventor; Sir Goldsworthy Gurney was born in the Cottage in 1793. Amongst other things, he invented a steam carriage, the Lime Light and lit the House of Lords. You can see his plaque on the side on the cottage (not a blue one in Cornwall, but black for the slate and copper for the copper mined in Cornwall.
There are two double bedrooms & a twin, a family bathroom, dining room, sitting room with a Cornish stone fires place for cosy winter breaks, full central heating, a large well equipped kitchen with a utility room, and a cloak room. The bedrooms and the sitting room are equipped with Digital TVs with DVD players, the kitchen has a dish-washer, washing machine and dryer. There is WIFI to connect to Broadband which is free, and a Payphone if you can’t get a mobile signal.
Outside is a private enclosed patio-garden, with an outside shower for sandy bodies and muddy dogs; a bar-b-que; a wood-burning outside heater, chairs and patio table. There is a garden gate for access to the hotel croquet lawn.
There is room for six people and a baby. If you wish to invite an elderly relative or put up some weekend friends in Woodlands Country House, we will offer a 5% discount for time of your stay (based on the B&B tariff, subject to availability). This is great for parents with children who want to bring grandparents, but they want to escape the noise. Baby sitting can be arranged.
The cottage has off-road parking for one or two cars (there is parking for more cars on the road). Avon Cottage is only minutes away from seven of the best beaches in North Cornwall. We are surrounded by wonderful walks for dogs (and people) and scenery to die for! Bring your paints and we will show you the best places for a masterpiece.
We can help with restaurant bookings, surfing, golf, riding and trips to Eden Project (we sell tickets to fast-track you in) and other gardens in North Cornwall. We can make up picnics for you, and even provide you with our famous cooked breakfast from the hotel kitchens - book a table well in advance.
Linen and towels are provided (you only need to bring beach towels). Well behaved dogs are welcome.
